Abstract: Aiming at solving the problem of multitarget tracking in high-density clutter better, based on viterbi algorithm, a new multitarget tracking algorithm in high-density clutter, which is joint viterbi data association algorithm (JVDA), is proposed with the injection of the conception of data association into the original frame of viterbi. The performance comparison among JVDA, JPDA and three simplified algorithms of JPDA is presented in detail. The simulation results show that JVDA can remedy the disadvantages of JPDA and three simplified algorithms of JPDA.Both the tracking performance and the real time performance of JVDA is better than that of JPDA and three simplified algorithms of JPDA. What is more, compared with JPDA and three simplified algorithms of JPDA, the error tracking ratio of JVDA is reduced more than 10%. JVDA can solve the problem of multitarget tracking in high-density clutter better.
